Wyatt 7 months | Arizona Baby Photographer

fresh . . . natural . . . half pint

that about sums him up!

I dare you to look at these and not smile!

I know I will return to these again and again whenever I’m feeling a little down for an instant lift.

This adorable hat and diaper cover comes from the ultra talented Christine of Monkey C Baby!  See her shop here.

I don’t really have a favorite stage.  I love them all, but something magical happens when a baby can sit up on their own.

He has two teeth, smiles and laughs all the time, prefers to feed himself, and is growing up way too fast!

All about baby FAQ | Arizona newborn photographer

Tracy asked, When is the best time to get my babies pictures taken?

There are so many fleeting moments in that first year of your babies life.  It feels like you put one baby to bed at night and the next morning they have already changed.  Here are a few key points of development that are more photogenic than others.

  • Newborn, up to 2-weeks old.  This stage is all about capturing the newness of life.  Remembering all their tiny, delicate features and the newly formed bond between baby and parent.
  • Sitting unassisted, usually around 6 to 8 months.  This is such a fun age to document.  Your baby is now smiling and their personality is coming out without them crawling away from you.
  • First birthday, 10 to 14 months.  When your child can stand, even just by holding onto furniture, they are bright-eyed and excited, yet still manageable because they aren’t super mobile yet.  This is the perfect opportunity to do a smash cake session.

Have you heard about our Bebe Plan?  It includes each of these milestones and some added bonuses.  Definitely the best option for babies first year.

Julie asked, When should I schedule my newborn session?

You definitely want to schedule while you are still pregnant.  To get the sleepy newborn shots it is best to photograph your baby no older than 2 weeks.  Let me know your due date and we set a tentative date and then adjust as needed.  As we all know babies come when they want to!

Jennifer asked, What is your favorite way to display newborn pictures?

This is a tough one as I have so many favorites.  I love a gallery wrapped canvas or a custom album you can hold in your hands and flip through, but I think my newest favorite is the “Crib Frame”.  It is a 6 inch thick frame that fills the entire space of your crib!  I love that it makes a statement and can be customized to coordinate with your nursery!  So adorable!

I hope this helps answer some of your questions!  If you have more send them my way, I make an effort to answer every one and you never know you may be featured in my next FAQ:)

Here is a peek at what is coming up next!

Today I went to my first Yoga class since having my baby.  Yoga, it’s the easy class where you do a lot of stretching right?  WRONG!  I got to the gym dropped my crew off in the kid’s play area and jumped on the eliptical machine.  Nothing shocking about this or out of the ordinary it’s my typical routine.  Still trying to build back my endurance after those months on bed rest.  Why does it take so long?  As I was moving along listening to Pandora on my iPhone I noticed all these sweet elderly ladies walking past my machine with their Yoga mats heading into the aerobics room.  Out of nowhere the idea hits me that I need to shake things up.  Try something new to challenge myself.

Pre horrible pregnancies I used to really enjoy attending classes to push me harder than I push myself and give a good well-rounded workout, but I haven’t felt like embarrassing myself in front of a room full of tiny thighs and 6-pack abs yet.  But today watching these ladies walk in I thought to myself . . . self a class where they are probably just going to do a lot of stretching would be a good ice breaker.  Give me some confidence.  So I bounded from my comfort zone of the eliptical machine and strolled in to find a mat.

So much for an ice breaker!  Not only am I out of shape, apparently I am inflexible and these ladies were all there to show me up!  I’m telling ya whoever said that 60 was the new 40 wasn’t kidding!

So in my own attempt to provide flexibility . . . now available!

The perfect gift for your next baby shower or niece, nephew or grandchild’s birthday.  Available in any amount.  Use at any time.  Three cheers for flexibility!

Happy 4th of July | Pine Valley

We are back!  It was so nice to “unplug” for a few days and escape to cooler weather.  Don’t you just l.o.v.e the 4th of July!  I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with family, friends and lots of good food.  I will be working on answering e-mails and returning phone calls today.  Thank you for your patience!

But the big announcement is . . . look who has a tooth!  He still isn’t sitting up on his own for more than a few seconds, but he sure is cute, don’t you agree?

Not my favorite picture of the three together – I have no idea where that “cheese” smile came from, but oh how I love those boys!

So like him . . . lost in thought . . .

So like him!  I love his shocked face when he realized they would actually spin!

Hope you all had a safe and happy holiday!

Hitting the Road | Sedona, AZ

First off thank you so very much for all the e-mails, facebook comments, phone calls, texts and cards I received for my birthday.  I was overwhelmed with love and I so appreciate it.  Please, please don’t be afraid to leave comments here on any posts.  I am here for you and want to hear from you!

To celebrate we took off Saturday morning with a picnic lunch and headed to Sedona.  What a beautiful city and when we arrived the temperature was only 91 degrees!  Lovely compared to the 110 we have been having.  I spent a slow-paced afternoon walking around the beautiful red rocks and quaint shops listening to music with m family.  It was FANTASTIC!  I made a conscience decision that since I was in a new place I wanted to document it in a new way.  So instead of placing my cutie patootie kids in every shot I focused on the details of where I was.  My kids were happy for the break and I was inspired by all the beauty around me.

On a side note I am going out of town July 1 – 7.  I will have limited e-mail as I headed to the mountains, but will return e-mails as quickly as possible.
